Evidence that the patriarchy is a real thing?! (Response)

I watched this video and I wanted to respond to it. She claims that the patriarchy exists in American society, and she tries to use social science methodology to back that up.  She spends about the first 10 minutes explaining why she made this video, her credentials, and about the social science process in general, to set up for her argument. This really got my hopes up that she would provide a lot of logic, and use statistics to back up her claims. I was disappointed. She first defined patriarchy as such:

Obviously she wasn't advocating the first definition, where we live in tribes and clans, and power stays with the father, and is passed down to the eldest son. Although, this is the definition of patriarchy I find most accurate; the kind found in the Old Testament.
She said that we live in a social system in which power is held and controlled by men, to favor men, and withhold opportunities from women. She then sets up the following proof:

I come from the world of math proofs, so this is a little different for me. Yet, there seems to be a disconnect of logic here. She claims that in order for our society to not be patriarchal, we'd need to have close to a 50/50 ration of male and female politicians. She further claims that if this assertion doesn't hold, then we must live in a patriarchal society.

I found this approach overly simplistic and inaccurate. Which is sad, because she seemed so sure that this was the most airtight solid argument ever made.

  1. How does more male politicians prove that we live in a patriarchal society? There in no line drawn between those two dots.
  2. Women have an equal opportunity to run for office.
  3. Our politicians aren't given their power by virtue of being male. They're elected. Who elects them? A population that is made up of 50% women. Women have an equal opportunity vote.
  4. In a patriarchal society, would men relinquish their power? Probably not. So her admitting that there are female politicians at all seems to contradict herself.
  5. Her assertion also seems to imply that gender is the only variable on election day. Of course, that's not case. There's other factors that voters consider when electing a politician, such as their viewpoints on social and political issues, their public relations, their outward character, etc...
  6. The US has two major presidential candidates who are women... A Democrat and a Republican! Carly Fiorina, is one of the top four Republican primary contenders! She's doing better than most of her fellow men contenders. This wouldn't happen in a society that didn't value women, and that didn't empower them with equal opportunity.
Personally, I vote for candidates who seem competent, honest, brave, and who represent my ideas. I've voted for a black woman Congress for the past two elections. But, it sickens me, that in today's world, that that matters. That anybody cares about WHAT I voted for.  WHO I voted for should be more important. Identity politics are a sham. I voted for my Congresswoman because she has integrity, and she supports many of the values that I do. I voted for her because she isn't afraid to stand up for what is right.

EDIT:
Whatever respect I have for this lady has been lost in her comments section of her video. YouTuber Justicar left her a brilliant response, which pretty much expressing my sentiments better than I could express them. Her immediate response was so profoundly stupid, that it makes me wonder how some University gives PhDs to people who so blatantly ignore the facts.

Manhood Academy aka Chipmunk Academy

I've stumbled across a lot of stupidity on the internet. I've laughed at a lot of people oblivious to their own ignorance. I've shaken my head at scammers such as Dr. Oz's miracle pills or Anita's critique of sexist video games. But... this one might just take the cake. Manhood Academy. They have a guy named "The Professor" (yeah just like the villain in Iron Man, who was also a fraud) and he charges $20 monthly to teach his "students" about how to be men, and he also has debates.

"The blind can't lead the blind" (Luke 6:39)
I can't stand this "Professor. I've listened to 10 minutes of one of his debates, and I knew that he was a scam and I knew that his whole philosophy and program should be dismissed. He distorts the voices to make them sound like chipmunks. He spent the first 5 minutes crying about people who criticize him. He calls everyone a "fucking faggot". How can I take an insecure angry chipmunk, screaming "faggot", seriously? You can't. He wants people to debate him on his own turf, on his own grounds, with 13 of his students helping him in the debate. He deletes comments, disables comments, and deletes videos. Talk about cowardly.

"...trying to play chess with a pigeon; it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and struts around the board claiming victory."

This is how to best describe "The Professor" and the "Academy. It is a complete waste of time to debunk this guy in detail. He has no real following. His product is unappealing. Most men know how to be men already. He has no real substance, so he substitutes this deficit with crass profanity. Kinda like a certain GOP presidential candidate. He advertises his website by being as offensive as possible, hoping to draw people to his website. MA justifies their classless, meaningless rhetoric calling it "free speech". His "free speech" isn't free. It isn't free of stupidity. I'll do you a favor and not even post a link to this garbage. Here's a screenshot of his website:

Here's a great response about it:

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

Why Do I Make Less Than My Male Co‑Stars? (Response)

Jennifer Lawrence, the star of the Hunger Games recently was told by feminist and actress, Lena Dunham, that she, Jennifer Lawrence was a victim of the fabled wage gap. She was making less money than her male co-stars, claiming that this was because of the wage gap. She has recently wrote a Lenny Letter explaining her frustrations with the injustice towards her gender in Hollywood.

Let's take a look at the data, let's compare how much Jennifer Lawrence made in 2015, compared to other top actresses and actors.

Top 10 Paid Women Actresses 2015:

  1. Jennifer Lawrence: $52,000,000
  2. Scarlett Johansson: $35,500,000
  3. Melissa McCarthy: $23,000,000
  4. Bingbing Fan: $21,000,000
  5. Jennifer Aniston: $16,500,000
  6. Julia Roberts: $16,000,000
  7. Angelina Jolie: $15,000,000
  8. Reese Witherspoon: $15,000,000
  9. Anne Hathaway: $12,000,000
  10. Kristen Stewart: $12,000,000

Top 10 Paid Male Actors:

  1. Robert Downey Jr.: $80 million
  2. Jackie Chan: $50 million
  3. Vin Diesel: $47 million
  4. Bradley Cooper: $41.5 million
  5. Adam Sandler: $41 million
  6. Tom Cruise: $40 million
  7. Amitabh Bachchan: $33.5 million
  8. Salman Khan: $33.5 million
  9. Akshay Kumar: $32.5 million
  10. Mark Wahlberg: $32 million
So we see that Robert Downey Jr, does indeed make more money than her. But, this hardly is evidence of a wage gap. This is probably one of the most laughable things I've ever heard. This is simply not true. Jennifer Lawrence is the highest paid actress/actor of Hollywood, second to Robert Downey Jr. Comparing herself to Robert Downey Jr. is silly for four reasons.

1. She never co-starred with him in any movies. Therefore, in every other movie she starred in, she made more than anybody else in the cast. Including the men.

2. She claims that she does the same job as Robert Downey Jr., and therefore deserves the same pay. Last I checked, not all actors get paid the same, not all movies make the same amount of revenue therefore not all the actors get paid a lot. Not all actors play the same roll, so therefore their jobs are different.

3. She thinks that she is entitled to be worth as much as Robert Downey Jr. He's been in wildly successful blockbusters, such as Avengers, Iron Man, Sherlock Holmes, and more. He even talked about leaving Avengers before Age of Ultron. That aside, Jennifer Lawrence has also been in a lot of films, such as Hunger Games, X-Men, and more. She's also valuable. By the time she reaches his age, she might even become more valuable.

4. She claims to be oppressed when she's the second highest paid film star of 2015.

Was her outrageously low pay of $52 million a sign of rampant misogyny in Hollywood? More proof that the wage-gap is real? Or does this idea come from the illogical propagandist, Lena Dunham, who tries to make everything fit into the debunked feminist rhetoric? You decide.

Pro-Abortion #sjw gets OWNED, and recent abortion events.

Prelude:

I normally won't feature content such as this, but this guy is oblivious to his own ignorance. It's entertaining. Abortion has always been a controversial topic. Pro-Choice people are advocating that women have the right to a safe and legal abortion, and that unborn children aren't human. Pro-Life advocates advocate that abortion is an act of murder of unborn children. Who is correct? I'll cover more the general topic in a subsequent post. What's clear though, is that it is a matter of life and death, and the debates get heated!

Recently, an undercover organization infiltrated deep into the organization named Planned Parenthood. This group leaked some videos that contained horrific dialogue exchanged with top level Planned Parenthood executives about allegedly selling unborn baby parts. I may cover these videos later. Planned Parenthood is federally funded and receives over $530 million annually.

For many of us who've thought of abortion as a barbaric act that has no place in a civilized  modern society, these videos, whether they be valid or not, only reinforced, and reawakened a simple fact: abortion is wrong. Many politicians are taking bold stances against Planned Parenthood, arguing that our tax dollars shouldn't be funding abortion. Planned Parenthood claims to represent all women, and women's rights. Of course, this is silly, since women are more likely to oppose abortion than men.

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina was confronted by a Planned Parenthood supporter while campaigning in Iowa.

Pro-Abortion #sjw gets destroyed in comments section of YouTube video

As I was watching this video, I was scrolling through the comments section. One commenter struck me as particularly funny. It was as if he was completely oblivious of how dumb he looked. Everybody tore into his arguments thoroughly, yet he kept asking for punishment. He was so frail, that he had to back every argument with an insult. His insults were repetitive and bland. In a long thread of 100+ comments, he repeated these same insults, over and over and over again: (This is a low count, I have missed many ad hominems and insults)
  • keyboarding out of your ass 9
  • lying piece of shit: 7
  • motherfucker: 42
  • threats of harassment: 2
  • mind your own fucking business: 6
  • arbiter of morality: 3
  • times he didn't understand the Nazi argument: 3
  • cunt: 15
  • addressing a woman about woman's rights and calling her a cunt: 14
  • out your ass: 13
  • the phrase: "care to": 15
  • legal right: 5
  • dishonest: 16
Unfortunately, his logical arguments aren't much better. He never really posed any real points of substance, he only tried to tear others down by calling them "dishonest pieces of shit". Here's some of my favorite:

  1. Instead of creating a flowing, constructive conversation, he only posted when trying to tear down others.
  2. He didn't defend why Pro-Abortion isn't Pro-Death, or why Pro-Abortion isn't a thing.
  3. He constantly repeating that the video tapes were edited in spite of everybody showing evidence that they weren't.  Instead of refuting the info in the links, he just posted links from liberal propaganda news sites. After not taking the time to read anybody else's links, he got upset that nobody read his links.
    1.
  4. He admits to not even watching the movies he loves debunking.
  5. Even if the tapes were a complete hoax, does that make abortion any less wrong?
  6. He kept alluding that the law constituted what was right and wrong. Yet he admitted to supporting gay marriage. He also used a homophobic slur and called somebody a cocksucker. Full of contradictions.
  7. He constantly accused people of sticking their nose where it didn't belong, and he told them to mind their own business. Which was funny, because he's not a woman, and he'll never need an abortion. Yet he put women in their place by calling them "cunts", and he told them to mind their own business.
  8. He accused people of being on a moral high horse. Which is funny, since he claimed to have the moral high ground and was judging people soley based on their pro-life stance... As if preserving life was a bad thing?
  9. He said that there is "no logic to facts".
  10. He claims that there is no such thing as an unborn child. If thats the case, why are there laws regulating smoking and drinking during pregnancy? What is LIVING inside the mother for 9-months? A clump of non-living cells? He eludes the discussion of human development. He dismisses the whole concept of DNA.
    1.
  11. He says women should be able to decide whether or not to kill their unborn child while pregnant, because being pregnant is hard, and because nobody should have to do something they don't want to do. Well, it's not like they were forced to get pregnant? (Excluding rape) They had a choice then? What if parents started saying, raising children is hard, and I'm tired of doing it. I shouldn't be forced to provide for them for the full 18-years they're under my care. I'll just end their lives to make mine more convenient. #duh
  12. He says "infants don't live in their mothers' wombs. Hey, cunt, a fetus is no more a human than an acorn is an oak".
    1. One, fauna and flora are different. You're comparing apples to monkeys.
    2. Two, why do we have regulation in place to protect fertilized eagle eggs if they're not living? He made no attempt to back up his claim. If an unborn child isn't human, what species is it? How do you defend an opinion like that, and call yourself a rational human being?
    3.
  13. Nazis used propaganda to "dehumanize" their victims, to justify their atrocities. Pro-abortion people also use propaganda "dehumanize" their victims as well, to justify their atrocities. I think this guy made it abundantly clear that he doesn't think unborn children are human. He even went as far as to claim that people would get emotional if they thought unborn babies were being slaughtered. Yep. He empathized with the pro-life movement without even admitting it. But, that would ruin the agenda, and the pro-abortion rhetoric. If this were a math proof, I'd elaborate this point here, and write QED.
  14. He's a #sjw gay marriage supporter who says that people can't enforce their version morality without a law. Hmm... I can already think of 100's of simple contradictions. Such as feminists enforcing their morality on society by censoring the internet, and banning certain public figures from certain countries. Or how about when morality is enforced by the law, such as the Religious Freedom Restoration Act in Indiana?
  15. He loves ad hominems, and thinks that they make him tough.
  16. He claims that if abortion is outlawed, women will go into back alleys and pay some shady practitioner to kill her baby using a coat hanger. I've heard this claim before, but I'm not even sure if this is even true? I've never seen any evidence to believe this. Abortions are expensive, they can cost up to a month's worth of wages. Abortions aren't legal in the 50 states. I'm interested to see if poor women, and if women who live in states without abortion, use coat hangers in back alley ways? Stats? Anybody?
  17. He doesn't refute the statement "Profanity is the last refuge of the truly ignorant."
  18. On his high horse, he threatens people.

Conclusion

While it's all fun and games to laugh at some random person's comments on the internet, remember that some people are immune to facts and reason. Their pride, and wanting to be right is more important than the truth. If your goal is to try to have a reasonable conversation, don't waste your time. If every point you make is refuted as Robert did, " You filthy, lying, motherfucking piece of shit!!!!", you should laugh and move on.
